Benjamin Franklin 9/15-9/17
Both Benjamin Franklin and Johnathan Edwards have played important roles in our history. Franklin was known for his writings and his inventions in technology. Edwards played a part in the Great Awakening. He was a very religious man and tried to convert others. He would give all the glory to God.

Both of these men have helped to shape our society into what it is today. These men will both be remembered in our history.

Jonathan Edwards and Benjamin Franklin can both be credited for several things today. Though mostly entirely different, they had some similarities- strong beliefs, a strive for moral perfection, love for writing and will to share their knowledge. The difference between the two, are stark however. Franklin was more science based, using his knowledge and lack of religion to further America's future in the field of politics and eventual freedom, as well as invent new things that were nonexistent at the time and still used today. Edwards though, was deeply religious, and chose to preach as opposed to worry over science. His fire and brimstone conviction however, helped to push the Great Awakening forward which was a huge and vital part of early American survival and detrimental to our history.

Johnathan Edwards and Benjamin Franklin were similar and different and various ways. Benjamin's writings were mainly based on the arts of science technology and creating ideas that still remain till this day, basically molding the future from a cultural standpoint.Edwards was considered more of the religious type who felt God deserved all the glory. When it comes to drawing similarities between the two, both Edwards and Franklin somewhat contributed to our culture and society, shaping the future. They also were similar in spirituality (though different beliefs) and responsible for the development of America.

While both Edwards and Franklin contributed to the cultural development of the colonies they shaped different parts. Though Benjamin wrote about trying to achieve moral perfection within his Autobiography he was also suspected of not being faithful to his wife which contrasts to Edwards strict belief in condemnation and giving all glory to God. With Edwards being part of The Great Awakening and focusing more on religion and Franklin influencing the colonies in the areas of science and diplomacy they played a major part in the shaping of our culture so much so that their influence still shows today.

Benjamin Franklin and Jonathon Edwards were both historical figures and played very big roles in shaping America. Edwards had more of an impact in religion where as Franklin did more with inventions and new ideas. Franklin is especially known for his invention of electricity. Both were spiritual guys but used different methods. Edwards preached fire and brimstone. He was very extreme. Both of these men played a key role in changing America.

Edwards tried to bring others to God while Franklin tried to shape the government. Franklin is remembered for his inventions, his writings, and being a diplomat.

Jon Edwards and Ben Franklin impacted the lives of Americans in a astronomical way. They both were great leaders in their own fields of passion and study. Their success and accomplishments have been studied and honored and noticed for over hundreds of years.
Jon Edwards differs from Franklin though in the fact he was a huge religious leader and spokesman. He led behind the pullpit preaching fire and brimstone, about salvation and hell. He preached heavily on turning from old ways and repenting or your lives would be damned for eternity. His writings and teaching are still used by preachers today to scare their listeners and believers into salvation, to the extreme. He was a great writer, and spiritual leader as he changed religion and way it was delivered forever.
Ben Franklin however was completely different for his fame. He was a man of many talents, and wasnt much he did that he didnt excel in. He was great printer, builder, and astonishing writer, where he spoke the truth and by using a fake name got his opinion heard. Ben Franklin also changed the way America saw things, by inventing the first bifocals, literally helping people see, inventing different forms of technology like Franklin stove, and lightning rod, which led to understanding and invention of harnessing electricity. Lastly Ben Franklin helped with the Revolutionary war effort by being one of the members who drew up declaration of independence and signing his name on it. Ben Franklin also changed the economy and jobs for america by creating insurance for homes, fir stations, and police force, to enforce the laws that were being ignored.
Jon Edwards and Ben Franklin were both great American men, although one was spiritual and religious in believing in higher power while the other was more laid back and had his own virtues to follow as his guidance, they both changed the lives of america forever.

Benjamin Franklin was a brilliant man who made numerous discoveries in his life. He was heavily involved in government and helped to shape American history. Franklin wanted to be seen as a moral individual even though he was often found to be a “skirt chaser”. He wrote his own autobiography and could easily have been seen as too prideful. Jonathan Edwards on the other hand relied on spiritual insight and gave God the credit when it came to his successes. Edwards was one of the greatest American Puritans of his time and was also a great writer. He is probably most remembered for his work Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. Both men were crucial figures in American cultural development but for different reasons.

Benjamin Franklin and Johnathan Edwards are too extrodinary men who left their impression on American in certainly different ways. Johnathan Edwards being in a religious aspect and him being strongly puritian. He was the bringer of the Great Awakening and tried to influence people toward the belief of God. Franklin was totally opposite and was focused on mans mind and what a person could do theirselves to better. Franklin in my opinion was more benefital to the American society. He brought forth many inventions and the discovery of electricty.

Jonanathan Edwards and Ben Franklin are both amazing men of our American History. Both of their impacts that they left on our nation will never be forgotten. Edwards and Franklin had major impacts on shaping the way our nation has been for a long time. Being great men that they are, both had different great accomplishments.
Edwards was known for his huge impact on preaching and having God put in everythings he did. Jonanthn Edwards played a major role in the Great Awakening and tried to be the hardcore preacher that at most of the times is trying to scare you into salvation.
Franklin on the other hand, did believe in God, but he had many other to thoughts as you would say about other human beliefs. Ben Franklin was in my personal opioion a "genius" and sculpted the american socitey how it is today. He was known for the discovery of electricity and played major roles in many important writings. The remarkable things both of these men did will never be brought out of our American history.
